Director’s Message
Feast of the Sacred Heart
Heart of Life warmly invites you to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus—a profound moment to dwell in the mystery and love flowing from Christ’s Heart. Our staff is preparing a liturgy that will draw us deeper into the divine compassion and presence at the heart of all life. We will gather in prayer and reflection at 11:00 am on Friday, 6th June. A shared meal will follow, continuing our unity in spirit and fellowship.
Walking the Land in Autumn
On a stunning autumn day, a reflection event called ‘Walking the Land in Autumn’ was facilitated by Peter Hay.
One participant offered these words:
[Peter] created a space to be conscious of where we stand, where we
come from, and where we are going. A location for finding our feet,
grounding ourselves, and establishing our place in the world. In the
interconnectedness of all, we discover our space.
The day reminded people that every pulse of the natural world belongs to the vast, unfolding story of the universe.
Let the Heart Listen
This 12-week formation program is designed for individuals engaged in listening to and supporting others on their life journeys. It also caters to those who wish to listen more intimately with their hearts and the wisdom and love that it reveals. The next program will be held online on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm, starting on Thursday, 31 July 2025. Click here or see below for more information.

Brian’s Reflections
God’s Foolishness
However ‘empty’ or hollow my life seems to me, I notice I’m content to be there. Most of the time, the invitation is to keep believing that God’s gift to me is ever present. Seen with different eyes, maybe I could say that the emptiness, the nothingness, the aloneness is somehow transformed – not taken away, but imbued with new hope…

Come Away to A Quiet Place & Rest…
Leslie Hanger & Apryl Huglin
7 June, 10am-4pm
Come away to a quiet place at our retreat series. Each session is centred around a particular season of the year, drawing wisdom from its unique gifts for our spiritual journey. Take some time out and embrace moments of silence, engage in sacred reading, time for personal reflection, journaling, and group sharing of your experience. Reflection and art materials will be provided.
Thoughtful Women: Contemplating & Concerned
Sue Gesell
7, 14, 21 June, 10am-12pm
Spiritual direction helps you discover your centre in relationship with the Mystery of God. By reflecting on your personal experience, you can develop a prayer or dialogue that draws on your understanding of God, engaging both mind and heart.
Though we may not fully comprehend our experiences or those of others, openness to the Mystery of God fosters deeper awareness and understanding. Spiritual direction awakens the heart to recognize Love’s invitations, offering the freedom to choose, not perfect answers or solutions.
Ongoing, at Heart of Life…
