| Hello to all of you, We are honoured to invite you to register for the Conference on Vulnerability to Abuse and the Catholic Church to be held May 25-28, 2022, at Saint Paul University, Ottawa, Canada. The Conference is organized in a hybrid way, i.e., face-to-face and online (zoom) in synchronous and asynchronous mode. You will find the information about the program of the conference in the attached files. Animated by internationally renowned experts, the conference will be an opportunity to address the different aspects of vulnerability. Indeed, the conference has a dual purpose, namely to discuss and clarify the understanding of the term “vulnerable persons” in the context of abuse in the Catholic Church and in society. It also proposes to reflect on how, in practice and in which situations, one could become a vulnerable person, and how to prevent this type of abuse. The mission of the Centre for Safeguarding Minors and Vulnerable Persons is to contribute to the elimination of the threat and trauma of abuse in the Church and in society by promoting prevention through education; by supporting the healing of victims/survivors, their families and communities; by seeking justice and contributing to reconciliation. | Bonjour à tous et toutes, Nous avons l’honneur de vous inviter à vous inscrire à la conférence sur la vulnérabilité aux abus et l’Église catholique qui se tiendra du 25-28 mai 2022, à l’université Saint-Paul, Ottawa, Canada. La Conférence est organisée de manière hybride, c’est-à-dire en présentiel et en ligne (zoom) en mode synchrone et asynchrone. Elle se propose aussi de réfléchir sur la manière dont, dans la pratique et dans quelles situations, une personne pourrait devenir une personne vulnérable, et comment prévenir ces personnes contre les abus. La mission du Centre de protection des mineurs et des personnes vulnérables est de contribuer à éliminer la menace et les traumatismes des abus dans l’Église et dans la société, en favorisant la prévention au moyen de la formation ; en soutenant la guérison des victimes/survivants, de leurs familles et de leurs communautés ; en recherchant la justice et en contribuant à la réconciliation.
