ENCOUNTER of HEARTS: Group Facilitation Training

Doreen Hendriks from Namibia has undertaken the English Group Facilitation Training offered by the MSC General Administration.

Encounter of Hearts (A Newsletter of Reports and Activities from lay members of the Chevalier Family across the world)
June 2026 15

This training will enable Doreen to offer formation in Namibia and to more effectively undertake her responsibilities as the Regional Coordinator for Africa.

Doreen writes to the Chevalier Family about her experience:

Dear Chevalier Family,
Good things often come in small packages—or so I thought—but truly, all good things come from God.
I have been selected to be part of a group attending training in the practice of group facilitation, and I would like to share a bit of my experience so far. It has been quite intense, with long hours of reading, exercises, and sharing insights.
During the first week, I honestly found myself wondering, “What is happening to me?”
However, I can now say that this course is truly mind-opening. It has been a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. It is one of the most exciting and meaningful courses I have ever done in my life. What I am learning as a facilitator is not only valuable in a professional sense but also deeply relevant to family life and relationships.
My dear friends, it is hard work, but I trust that I will reap good fruits from it. I believe that learning to lead begins with discovering yourself—understanding who you are and growing in insight as a person.
