Renewal Program for Missionaries 2024

Through the enclosed brochure, I would like to invite you to consider sending priests or lay leaders from your diocese to the Renewal Program for Missionaries (RPM) 2024 of the Faculty of Missiology of the Pontifical Gregorian University.

The RPM is a one-semester program in English, aimed at helping missionaries and other experienced pastoral ministers receive theological and missiological updating. The program is ideal for those going on sabbatical and who seek a short but solid program of study, renewal, and ongoing formation. The setting of the program in Rome is an added attraction, as the program includes guided visits to historical sites, dicasteries, and centers of mission in Rome.

This program has been run two times: in 2020 before the pandemic, and just this semester, from February to May 2023. The feedback from the first and this latest group of participants has been very positive. Participants found the classes stimulating and inspiring, providing fresh perspectives on mission. They appreciated the guided visits, which made history come alive for them. They valued the way the program helped them integrate new learnings and their own pastoral and missionary experience. Perhaps, above all, they felt deeply enriched to be part of an international community of students, composed of diocesan priests, religious priests and sisters, and lay people, from diverse cultural and mission contexts.

The RPM will begin in February 2024.
