This is the sixth section in this series of reflections on self-understanding for the sake of mission. In this section we discuss in more detail the differing dimensions of human needs, in order to gain some understanding of how we, as MSC, are influenced by our own needs.

Safeguarding Webinar
Centre for Safeguarding at St. Paul University Ottawa, Canada. This is a one day English language seminar on adult victims of sexual abuse. October 15, 2021. Cost is $50 CAD. You may need to book quickly as seats are limited In this interactive workshop, we will review relevant aspects of a significant shift that seems to be occurring in the context of clergy sexual abuse. Based on clinical observations from The Southdown Institute, a mental health treatment centre for clergy and vowed religious, we will explore the issue of the sexual abuse of vulnerable adults.
Section 4 – Self-Understanding – Values
In Section 3 we looked at each of the motivational forces; Values and Needs. Now we will consider the various values, that mould and shape our whole life of faith as MSC, what Jules Chevalier calls the sentiments of the Heart of Christ. Our starting place is to understand the nature of values and the different kinds of values that influence human behaviour.
Formators Course Mater Ecclesiae – Rome 2021-2022
The Course for Formators prepares future Formators. The Course includes three areas of study: Spirituality, Human Sciences, Psychology. Seminars, workshops and practical exercises will complete the preparation of those registered. The Course may last one year (two semesters) or two years (four semesters).
Enrolment requires possession of the necessary prerequisite for university admission, or the approval of a special commission of the Institute. In each academic year, students are expected to participate in 11 courses and a seminar.
